Welcome!

Born at the very end of the XVIIIth Century, our Lodge l’Union Française No 17 decided to celebrate the XXIst Century by establishing this web site.

Our pages will provide you some information about Freemasonry in general and L’Union Française #17 Lodge in particular. The majority of these are written in both English and French. However some of them are only in French because they are copies of original documents from our files. One of the French-only documents is a manuscript hand-written in 1896 outlining the history of the Lodge between 1797 and 1893. We have not translated this, as it would have been impossible to preserve the emotion of the writing. Another emotional part of our history is the discovery of a set of pictures showing 5 orphans who were adopted by the lodge in October 5, 1918.

You will also find links to other Grand Lodge sites in particular that of the Jurisdiction of which we proudly belong: The Grand Lodge of the State of New York.

You will also find texts, which, although are also on other sites, seemed to us interesting enough to even refer here.

Lastly, but for those who read French, click on the link "Liste de sites utiles”. You will be redirected to the Association l’Union Française that is a resource center for things French in New York. This site can be very useful to help you find more about France and the French in New York.

We hope that you will enjoy our pages.

Let us know your impressions.

Friendly and Fraternally

The Worshipful Master of L’Union Française # 17, F&AM.
